Film Cognito - Paul Kemp (Johnny Deep) seorang jurnalis Amerika yang bekerja sebagai penulis bebas pada koran local Puerto Rico tahun 1950-an. Ia mencoba menemukan keseimbangan antara penduduk lokal dan expatriat yang tinggal disana.

Adegan bermula saat Paul Kemp bangun dari tidurnya. Dengan latar belakang sebagai seorang alkoholik ia berhasil membuat film hidup. hanya saja loncatan-loncatan film begitu tajam sehingga membuat film adaptasi kisah nyata ini agak membosankan untuk ditonton.

Untungnya Aktor sekelas Johnny Deep mampu untuk mengangkat film ke status yang lebih tinggi dibanding membosankan.
